What We Do

Thank you for being a part of our journey and helping us paint a brighter future for children in need. Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow through education. Your kindness, generosity, and support are invaluable to us.

Why Children, Young Adults, and Women?

At Samvaw Foundation, we believe that empowering children, young adults, and women is the cornerstone of building a brighter, more equitable future. Here is why we focus on these groups:

  • Children: Every child deserves the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. According to UNICEF, 1 in 5 children in India live in extreme poverty, and many lack access to basic education. By investing in children’s education and well-being, we lay the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. Your support ensures that these young minds have access to the resources and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
  • Young Adults: The transition from adolescence to adulthood is a critical period filled with challenges and opportunities. The youth unemployment rate in India stands at around 23 per cent, significantly higher than the overall unemployment rate. We strive to equip young adults with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to thrive in today’s world. Through education, vocational training, and mentorship, we empower them to build successful futures and become positive contributors to society.
  • Women: Women are the backbone of our communities, and their empowerment is essential for societal progress. Studies show that women reinvest 90 per cent of their income into their families and communities, compared to 30-40 per cent for men. By supporting women through education, vocational training, and entrepreneurship programs, we help them achieve economic independence and leadership roles. Empowered women uplift their families and communities, creating a ripple effect of positive change.

How Will Your Donation Help?

Samvaw Foundation currently operates multiple SAGE and SEWA projects in five states of Northern India, including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

With your support, we address children’s critical needs by working with parents, teachers, Anganwadi workers, communities, district and state-level governments, as well as the children themselves.

We focus on changing behaviours and practices at the grassroots level and influencing public policy at a systemic level – thereby creating an ecosystem where children are made the nation’s priority. Our key focus areas include:

Donate for Education

We conduct awareness drives to highlight the importance of education and ensure that all children are enrolled in school. According to the Ministry of Education, around 15 per cent of children aged 6-14 in India are still out of school. Your donation helps us provide educational materials, support community schools, and advocate for policies that guarantee every child’s right to education.

Donate for Protection

We prevent social atrocities such as child marriage, child labour, child abuse, domestic violence, and violence and injustice against women by creating awareness about the harmful effects of these practices.

According to UNICEF, 1 in 3 child brides worldwide are from India, and over 10 million children are engaged in child labour. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reported over 100,000 cases of child abuse in 2023.

Furthermore, data from the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5) indicates that 30 per cent of women aged 15-49 have experienced domestic violence while the National Crime Records Bureau reports that cases of domestic violence have increased by 8 per cent annually.

Additionally, we connect families with SAGE and SEWA centres for job opportunities, helping them achieve financial stability.

Your support enables us to safeguard children’s and women’s rights and promote a safe and nurturing environment.

Donate for Health and Nutrition

We ensure children and women receive timely vaccinations and sufficient nutrition by connecting them to government healthcare services. According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), 35 per cent of children under 5 years in India are stunted due to malnutrition.

Furthermore, the survey indicates that 57 per cent of women aged 15-49 years are anaemic. Additionally, only 58 per cent of women aged 15-24 years use hygienic methods of menstrual protection. Your contribution helps us run health camps, distribute nutritional supplements, and advocate for improved healthcare policies for children and women, ensuring they lead healthier and more productive lives.

Your generosity fuels our mission to transform lives and create lasting impact. Join us in making a difference by donating today.

Together, we can build a brighter, more inclusive and sustainable future for all.
